The regime’s tourism minister announced that Cuba is preparing to open its borders on November 15. Juan Carlos García Granda assured that 10 international airports are ready to receive the increase in international visitors, who must comply with new protocols for the coronavirus. Cuba is preparing to open its borders on November 15, as announced at a press conference by the minister of tourism, this Tuesday morning.

“There will be an increase in flights and arrivals of international visitors and the 10 international airports are ready for this opening that I plan to begin the recovery progressively,” said Juan Carlos García Granda.

These are the new measures:

  • Cuba will eliminate the mandatory quarantine for international travelers from November 7.
  • The PCR at the border entrance is eliminated.
  • Cuba will recognize all vaccines certified by international agencies or other countries.
  • All international travelers (Cubans and foreigners) must present their health passport or vaccination card count covid-19.
  • Those who do not present the certificate of vaccination against the coronavirus, must have a negative PCR test to covid-19 made 72 hours in advance.
  • Children under the age of 12 do not have to submit proof of vaccinations or PCR.
  • Sanitary control surveillance is maintained in ports, airports and marinas.
  • They must present a traveler’s health declaration, which will be digital so that it can be filled out before the trip.
  • Mask wearing continues at airports and throughout the country. Masks should be worn in enclosed premises.
  • Those who present symptoms will be referred to a health institution and a PCR test will be performed.
  • Epidemiological surveillance is maintained in all hotels in Cuba.
  • Owners of rental homes or people hosting non-resident travelers of the country are responsible for reporting if any of the guests have symptoms.
  • Cuban travelers residing on the island must present themselves in no more than 48 hours, in a doctor’s office.
  • All Cuban travelers must take a coronavirus test 7 days after arriving on the island.
